Hi There,
My name is Ms. Kim Koehn and I am excited to be teaching fourth grade at Albany Elementary again this year. I appreciate the talented group of educators and support staff I work with. Together we have the opportunity to create a supportive and caring learning environment for our students.
I live on a small, hobby farm close to Upsala, north of Albany. I really enjoy the quiet, peaceful scenery and the animals that live with us. We have a dog that stays outside - Annie. She is a purebred border collie and is a great dog to have on the farm. We have a cat named Luna and she makes her home in the barn.
I spend my summers enjoying camping trips with my family. In June, my sister and I normally stay at a cabin on Lake Lawrence by Outing, Minnesota. The weather and water are usually great. We often start each day in the canoe paddling around the lake. The rest of the day is spent with quiet time for reflecting, reading and relaxing. Other summer camping excursions have included tenting at one of Minnesota's beautiful state parks, exploring the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and swimming in Lake Superior during a long weekend stay at Bayfield, Wisconsin. Watching a performance at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater and traveling by train to Target Field to cheer on the Twins are other summer activities my family and I make time for.
During my free time, I like to go for long walks outside, read a few good mystery stories and dabble with watercolor and acrylic paintings. The subjects of my paintings are generally the trees and flowers I find growing in and around our yard.
I am looking forward to another great year of learning at Albany!
