Personal Narrative
In a personal narrative, the writer tells about an experience from his or her own life. We read a story in class titled, "Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street". The main character has a writing assignment for school and doesn't know what to write about. She learns that by observing the people and events that take place on her street, she has more than enough material for her story. Students will be writing a similar personal narrative paragraph based on observations they make at home. The narrative will need to include a topic sentence and stay focused on the topic. Organizing ideas into a logical order, having a clear beginning, middle and conclusion will also be required for this writing piece.
